If you know me at all then you know I tend to enjoy being contrary. So to those rude people mentioned in my previous post, thanks for the push to start writing in my blog again. Which leads me to the last funny thing I read…from News of the Weird…
The Manitoba (Canada) Bar Association, which was hoping to file a brief in a controversial police investigation case in Winnipeg in March, announced it would have to forgo participation because it lacked sufficient funds to hire a lawyer. [Winnipeg Free Press, 3-7-08]
Canadians?!!
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything and probably about as long since I checked the comments. What I found when I did check them was a nice post from CJ at A Soldier’s Prospective (thanks for stopping by CJ) and some good advice to deal with my lovable but pain in the butt cat, Smudge, but I also found a couple from people that weren’t so nice. And you know what? It’s my blog on my domain. I pay the registration and hosting. And since it is, I’ll say what I want, when I want, about whatever I want and I decide which of the comments get post. If you come to my blog, first it’s not on a something like blogspot or myspace; you have to click type in the URL or click in the link from the www.pandora.org webpage, so you choose to come here. Second, if you don’t like it, go the hell away.

For some reason, my cat, Smudge, has decided that I need to be awake at 4:30 this morning. Most people, including Adam, would just sleep through all the stuff that Smudge does to wake me up like climbing on the shelves in our bedroom, clawing the shelves (they’re bare wood and he’s done a really job on them), sitting in the hall meowing, and standing beside the bed pawing at my arm, back or whatever he can reach. And he does all of this to get me to get up, go in the kitchen and…shake his food bowl. Not to feed him. He always has food in the bowl. He just wants me to shake his bowl and sit in the kitchen while he eats. At 4:30AM. If we close the bedroom door, he just sits in the living room knocking stuff off the bookcases or tables or scratches at the door and meows. If neither of those work, he picks fights with our other cat, George, unless we make sure he’s in the bedroom with us.
Any suggestions on how to…cure..him of this?
We’ve tried crating him at night. It works except who wants to have a crate big enough for the cat to be in for hours sitting in their living room? I don’t. I guess I’ll have to go back to that if I can’t figure out something soon.

Ok..I’ve been told that I need to start blogging again. I didn’t think anybody was really reading this but apparently at least a few. So here goes…
I don’t have anything funny to share today or anything to rant about so I guess today I’ll just catch y’all up on what’s going on in the still cold North. It’s June for goodness sake. It should at least be warm enough to go out without a jacket on. It’s not. Even Adam is still wearing his jacket. I can’t wait until we can move someplace that actually has more than a month of where you get spring, summer and fall all together and then back to winter for the rest of the 11 months of the year. Ok..spring, summer and fall for two months and only 10 months of winter.
All of my immigration paperwork is filed and waiting for approval. Hopefully, within the next two or three weeks, I’ll be getting that lovely letter from CIC telling that I can finally go look for a job. We’ll have been in Canada for four years on the 9th. I think I’m ready to get back to work. I know I’m ready for more money to be coming. I’m just not looking forward to actually looking for a job. I know that I was really spoiled in my last job. I mean how many people actually get paid to read the newspapers and go shopping for a living?! I had other stuff I had to do to, but I also had the best boss. Gina’s a great boss and it’s going to be hard to find one that is even half as good a boss as her.
Going to work is definitely going to cut down on my WoW playing time too. That sucks.
But oh well. Work…more money…find new place to live (preferrably out of Nova Scotia)…even more money…be able to go home for visits…be able to play in a SCA group again…it’ll be worth it.
I guess that’s all for today. If you’re out there reading this, let me know. I’ve been known to talk to myself, but I’d rather know that I’m not just rambing to myself.

Wow..it has been awhile since I blogged, but haven’t really had much to say. It hasn’t been too bad a winter here so far and I can’t complain about the amount of snow we’ve gotten this year. I’ve only had to wear my winter boots once so that’s cool.
It’s been pretty boring around here except for the new game Adam and I got each other for Christmas. We’ve been playing World of Warcraft. What a blast. I’ve been having alot of fun playing it and I’ve never been a gamer. But in less than a month I had my character to level 40 and beat Adam and the other couple of guys I play with there.
Gotta love when a girl non-gamer beats the guy gamers to a big level in the game…of course now one of them is beating me to the next big level and the other has left me in the dust, but oh well it’s been fun racing them to each new level. It’s a really fun game and if you like to play computer games, you should give it a try.
26 October 2006
Not much to update. It’s been pretty quiet around here and I’ve just been keeping busy with housework, Cubs, and reading.
But here’s one tidbit. Back on the 5 Oct 2006, I wrote a post about the Sunday shopping ban being lifted. Of course, I was happy about it. I’d like to be able to go by a loaf of bread, butter or whatever on Sunday without having to pay the even more outrageous prices at a C-store. So here’s the question…ready for it? Have I gone shopping on Sunday since the ban was lifted???
?
?
?
NO!!! I haven’t even left the apartment the last two Sundays. Funny, huh? Oh well, I’m sure that I’ll be out shopping on a Sunday soon.
That’s about all for now. See ya!

Hi everyone. It’s been awhile since I wrote anything here. I haven’t really been busy or anything. Just haven’t had much to say. But here’s some news:
The Nova Scotia has wiped out the ban on Sunday shopping!!! YEAH!!!
I’m excited about it. I know a bunch of people aren’t, but hey, my husband is already REQUIRED to work on Sundays and he works for one of the grocery stores.
Anyway other than that, the new Scouting year has started. Please support your local Scout group in their fundraising. Scouting helps kids grow up to be good, responsible citizens that contribute to society instead of being a drain on it.

Woman crashes when
teaching dog to drive
Associated Press
BEIJING - A woman in Hohhot, the capital of north China’s Inner Mongolia region, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson, the official Xinhua News Agency said Monday.
No injuries were reported although both vehicles were slightly damaged, it said.
The woman, identified only be her surname, Li, said her dog “was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive,” according to Xinhua.
“She thought she would let the dog ‘have a try’ while she operated the accelerator and brake,” the report said. “They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car.”
Xinhua did not say what kind of dog or vehicles were involved but Li paid for repairs.

I took these this morning. In the first picture, the three bluebonnets toward the back are blue, but the one in front that’s down near the edge of the pot is pure white. Very cool!
The second picture is my Texas wildflowers. I’m not sure that the pink and purple flowers are but the yellow ones are Plains Coreopsis. They are really pretty.
The third picture is my basil plant. It’s not as tall or as full as it was yesterday. I clipped off some leaves yesterday to spice my spaghetti sauce.
The first on the second row is my Spathyllum or Peace Lily. It’s not in bloom right now but it has alot of babies growing.
The last one is my Norfolk Pines. At last count, at Christmas, there were nine trees. I have to wait until next spring to separate them, but then I’ll have a plethora of potted Norfolk Pines. I’m hoping that at least one will eventually get tall enough to use as our Christmas tree. I think they make pretty Christmas trees and we wouldn’t be destroying another tree every year just to hang ornaments on it. Wiser use of our natural resources. We need our trees for oxygen more than for ornamentation.
Hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures.
Thanks for stopping by.
